The GFCC is proud to welcome two new fellows to our community: Ms. Laura Sandys, former UK Member of Parliament, and Mr. Tae-shin Kwon, former Korean Ambassador to the OECD and Vice Minister of Finance and Economy. They will bring expertise in competitiveness, global finance, and energy to the GFCC, further enhancing our global presence.
Ms. Laura Sandys runs a consultancy firm, Challenging Ideas, advising on new business models and innovative public policy solutions across the energy, food and resources sectors. Laura is Deputy Chair of the Food Standards Agency and runs the 21st Century Energy Regulatory Commission with Imperial College and the Energy Systems Catapult.
Mr. Tae-shin Kwon has been Vice Chairman and CEO of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) since 2017. Prior to joining the FKI, Mr. Kwon served as President of the Korea Economic Research Institute for three years from 2014. He has built most of his career in the Korean government.
