GFCC launches new podcast series in partnership with HEDx

Published on August 6, 2024

The GFCC is launching a series of podcast episodes exploring the future of higher education in partnership with its corporate member HEDx. Through dynamic and forward-looking interviews, the series will map future solutions for the sector, analyze trends and experiences, and delve into the interplay between universities and place-based innovation.

Partnering with HEDx, the GFCC opens new opportunities for university members and industry leaders to showcase their innovative projects and experiences to a global audience, foster meaningful exchanges with peers worldwide, and enhance their impact and thought leadership. Learn more about the series here.

All interviews will be conducted by Prof. Martin Betts, founder, and CEO of HEDx, and a GFCC leader. Prof. Betts holds more than 40 years of experience in academic and executive roles in universities in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

He is the author of three books analyzing trends in higher education and hosted many conferences around the world. On July 9, he was a guest in the exclusive GFCC Monthly Call, commenting on ongoing shifts in higher education, innovative models already in place, and future opportunities.

In the first episode of the series, Prof. Betts talks to Prof. Ken Sloan, Vice Chancellor of Harper Adams University in the UK, about their approach to rural place-based innovation in the agricultural setting.
